Ben Eine and other Artists

BEN EINE

One of the world’s most prolific street artists, Eine is is a master of the exploration of the letterform and is considered a pioneer of the art in the street art world.  His huge and now iconic circus font letters and emotive statements adorn street walls, shutters and doors around the globe.

Eine is an important artist in the history of UK street art. A master graffiti artist and typographer.  He is one of the most well known & prolific street artists in the world with his instantly recognisable typographic tags which have transformed streets around the world from London to LA, via Mexico City, Miami, Paris, Dublin, Tokyo, Stockholm and San Francisco.

Eine's bright and colourful letters were created to stand out from the usual tags and dawbs seen on the streets and still to be found across East London, often written using whole words and sentences across walls ....eventually achieving his notoriety & prominence in the commercial graffiti scene through his symbiotic partnership with London graffiti artist Banksy.

Eine first came to mainstream prominence when David Cameron presented one of his pieces - 21st Century City - to President Barack Obama in 2010 as part of a ceremonial exchange of gifts between the two nations leaders. Up until its most recent incunbent moved into the oval office, Eine was the only living artist that hung on the walls of The White House.

Among his many commissions he has designed a signature scarf for Louis Vuitton, bags for Anya Hindmarsh, numerous iconic buildings around the globe, and he has recently finished what is the largest piece of street in the world that can be seen from space.

Eine limited editions are extremely collectable and his APs or Artist Proofs even more so.

APs are produced in smaller numbers than the general edition, are marked as APs, signed and numbered. APs are considered to be “closer to the artist’s hand,” and signed APs are generally more collectable than the prints of a signed and numbered limited edition.

Please note there may also be marks and paint spills on APs which adds to their more unique nature.

EVAN HECOX

Colorado-based artist Evan Hecox distills his environment in his art, transforming the subject into graphic elements in prints, drawings, and mixed-media works. With the eye of a cinematographer, Hecox begins by taking photographs; he then selects a single isolated element or scene as a stand-in for a place, carefully curating the details and figures that populate this world.

While Hecox often employs strategies from the designer’s toolbox, including embellished text and flat areas of strong color, the artist’s hand is still revealed in his treatment of line and the occasional ink splatters that make their way into his work.

His stylistic approach is based on the process of amplification as it affects form and color, breaking down the image, removing elements and emphasizing others. Hecox also specializes in creating graphics for skateboards - most famously Chocolate Skateboards - and the music industry and has exhibited worldwide, including exhibitions in Los Angeles, London and Tokyo.
